Smelt

So this is just as simple as it can get
My mom and step dad gave me a gallon of Smelt *which is fish* if you didn't know

they are very time consuming but they are worth it....all you have to do it cut off the heads and then split down the middle to get all the guts outs...and then of course wash them out

the bones are so little that you just leave them in and they just disappear after they are fried and baked you can even leave on the tails

i just used my simple fish batter recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Whisk together the flour, milk, water, baking powder, and salt in a bowl until smooth

Just fry and bake and you are set to go!!
